Intelligent Home Gateway

This Project involves the design and development of a Intelligent Health Gateway (IHG) for remote monitoring of homes and people. The main theme of the Project is Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Technologies. Machine-to-machine (M2M) refers to technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same ability. M2M uses a device (such as a sensor or meter) to capture an event (such as temperature, inventory level, etc.), which is relayed through a network (wireless, wired or hybrid) to an application that translates the captured event into meaningful information (for example, items need to be restocked).

The Project include hardware design of IHG, development of the intelligent application that will coordinate devices and gateway besides extracting meaningful information from the observed data using machine learning. In the project, also a dedicated ECG sensor will be developed and integrated in the system to monitor well being of the users. All these devices will be controlled remotely using smart user interfaces that are designed considering different needs of several types of different users.
